CALCH – Spring Clean 17th March

On Monday March 17th we held the first of our ‘Spring Cleaning’ events up at Herbert’s Quarry on the Black Mountain.

Unfortunately over the winter, much litter had been left up on the mountain which had blown about and made the quarry look a mess.

We met at the viewpoint carpark off the A4069 (the road from Llangadog to Brynamman) at 9am and started work as soon as we could. With help from our volunteers we managed to clear up seven big bags worth of rubbish and moved it all up to one part of the quarries to be collected at a later date.

A massive thank you to Joe, Colin and Arthur, without whose help we would not have had such a successful spring clean at Herbert’s Quarry!

Just a polite reminder to visitors to the Quarry – there are rubbish bins in both the car parks so please leave your rubbish in those, not on the mountain.

NEXT TIME – we’ll be doing another ‘Spring Clean’ up at Herbert’s Quarry on Thursday May 8th. If you’d like to get involved please contact HollyMae on h.steaneprice@dyfedarchaeology.org.uk to register your interest! We hope to see you there.
